Welcome to our 1880’s Mill House in Historic Glencoe Mill Village located in the heart of the Piedmont. |
Glencoe Mill Village offers a unique glimpse of a 1800 cotton mill and village. The 105 acres site along the Haw River includes the mill complex, 32 beautifully restored houses, the mill store (today as the Textile Museum), office, lodge and other associated buildings.
The rehabilitation of Glencoe Mill combines preservation, conservation and environmental components.
The village is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and also recently listed on the National Birding Trail.
Visitors to the village can learn about conservation and recreation opportunities (hiking trails, canoeing access) on the Haw River while enjoying the river first hand.
The Haw River Trail which is also part of the Mountains-to-Sea Trail network are part of statewide and local efforts to promote conservation and recreation along the river.
